Montmaur

Au Revior Cham, Hello Ceuse We said goodbye to Chamonix yesterday. We ended our time there with two days of sport climbing on excellent granite, including some high quality multi-pitch sport routes. We were even treated to an amazing meal at “Munchies”, thanks to Max! The teryaki duck was a definite favourite.

As we spent our time in Chamonix either in the mountains or in the mignon hamlet of La Tour, we took an hour or so yesterday to explore the shops of Chamonix. After, we hit the road, headed south to a gite near the village of Montmaur. The hot weather finally came to a head, and we drove part of the way in a rain and thunder storm.

Our gite is a portion of an old french farm house, with a kitchen and even an outdoor dining area. We met our guides, Regis and Michelle, and made plans for today. We are having a late start, then spending the afternoon and evening at a climbing spot called Orpierre. Tomorrow, we will climb at Ceuse.
